North Dallas Antique Mall ... Labor Day Sale! Details later today! This past Monday Fred and I spent one of the most pleasant days together we’ve had all summer. Usually we drive from one great estate sale and/or auction to another with too little time in between. Lunch is fast food while we sit in the car. But not this week. Instead, we discovered a great little Mexican restaurant (Casa Navarro) ... AND ... spent a leisurely afternoon shopping with Roger & Abby Holmes, owners of North Dallas Antique Mall. The Mall was originally a movie theater ... was converted into an antique mall (Destiny’s Antiques) ... and then changed to North Dallas Antique Mall when Roger & Abby made the leap from antique dealers to mall owners! (cont'd on Home)age) ... DETAILS

Griffin Trading Company ... in the Dallas Design District this Friday & Saturday. A MAGICAL shop ... just like it’s mythical namesake "The Griffin" (a creature with the body of a lion and the head and wings of an eagle). It’s location: a renovated warehouse on Howell Street on the south side of Riverfront Boulevard in the Design District. As you enter through the loading dock you’re immediately struck by how different an antique shop this truly is. You might think you’ve walked through a portal into 19th century England with the dark woods and leather furniture. Perhaps you’re in a gentleman’s club exclusively for members of the House of Lords. Continue weaving your way to the back of the building ... all the while passing by walls covered in ship and sailing memorabilia. READ MORE |
