Aunt Mary's Estate Sales ... in Sulphur Springs starting Friday. If you’ve ever attended a Bright Star Antiques Auction in Sulphur Springs, TEXAS, then you’ve probably met or at least seen Mary Groner (Aunt Mary). She’s the one with the artist eye for displaying the antiques and collectibles Jay finds throughout his many shopping trips. This weekend she plans on staying close to home and conducting an estate sale filled with some amazing antiques ... lots of old wicker ... and even an antique light fixture from the original Christian Church in Sulphur Springs. The STAR of the SALE has to be that immense mirrored étagere that’s part book case, part curio cabinet. It’s styling is as elegant and graceful as it’s antique predecessor, but with a look that is more traditional. A beautiful fit for almost any home’s decor! It’s a professional model Allen Organ. It’s made by the largest manufacturer of church organs in the country (Macungie, Pennsylvania). And one more "must see" item for families who haven’t taken a summer vacation yet ... a pop up camper by Viking. As you head to Frisco, remember there are several sales in the area ... just draw a straight line from Plano ... to two sales in Frisco ... and then to McKinney. Ralph Willard ... in Dallas (the "M" Streets) starting Thursday. Ralph Willard wasted no time getting back from his Antique Show in Austin and setting up a wonderful sale in the "M" Streets. The house itself isn’t large ... but it is "large" in content with wonderful antique furniture ... sterling silver flatware ... Oriental furnishings ... and a Black Forest table with two musical chairs. Yes, musical chairs! The homeowner was an accountant who furnished his office with a great big executive desk by Pacific (truly a wonderful piece) ... and stored his books in a barrister bookcase. Fred picked out his favorites as soon as we entered the house ... handmade metal airplanes. Not me ... I thought the Royal Satsuma was pretty special.
